Founded in 2001, the company’s initial start-up phase was called Abernathy Construction. A company that consisted of only one full time employee, Jon Abernathy. With the knowledge passed down from his father and grandfather he set out to make Abernathy a trusted, household name in the four states. Over the years Jon began to gain customer awareness due to his entrepreneurial drive and customer satisfaction! As word of mouth began to spread the news of Jon's exceptional business practices the company catapulted to new heights.
Fast forward to today, now Abernathy Roofing and Construction employs over 15 full time employees. Jon and Sarah are family oriented, devout Christians with incredible dedication and loyalty to customers and employees. Living locally their whole lives has only increased their love for the four states area and their commitment to serving and giving back to the community.
Kyle brings top notch knowledge of sales and customer service experience to the table. One of the most successful finance managers in the automotive industry in Northwest Arkansas in recent times, Kyle loved what he did but, wanted a change of pace that would provide him with a challenge while freeing up some time to spend with his family and friends. Always putting his customers first and providing exceptional customer service are just a few of the reasons you can count on him for your next project.

Kayla is one of the first faces you'll meet when you come to our showroom.
Always friendly and as helpful as possible to our customers, she has 6 years of office management experience. We were lucky enough to find her with 3 year of experience with construction office management specifically. She'll be happy to help you make a payment or setup a consultation with our sales staff.
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Kayla moved to Oklahoma about 13 years ago where she met her husband Caleb. They go back and forth between their home in Wyandotte and here in Joplin as they are always active with family and church friends. Huge animal lovers, they definitely love being cat mom and dad.
Born and raised here in Joplin, Katie is a small town girl. After six plus years of customer service in the hospitality industry, Katie makes it her priority to make clients and customers feel welcome and at home with her by being that consistent smile and having kind words every time you see her.
When not at work, you can find her drinking an overpriced almond milk latte, or with her nose in a good book. She enjoys being outdoors with friends, family, and the pups of course!
Trent is our on site quality control. You'll see him inspecting your property during and after the job to make sure everything is just like it was before we went to work on your project. Even with excellent attention to detail sometimes things get missed. That's where Trent comes in to make sure that things look how they should and that results in things being taken care of much quicker if the situation arises.
Trent recently got married to his wife Shelby and, loves fishing,hunting, playing music, also spending time with family and friends. He's a Joplin resident after spending the past 7 years in Quapaw Oklahoma. Trent along with the rest of our team makes sure your project follows our motto "Quality is what we build".

Patrick is exceptionally well-respected in Joplin, not only for his unparalleled professional track record and high ethical standards, but also for being an honest, hard-working family man whose contagious smile is one you can’t forget. Patrick’s devotion to this company is evident and is shown in the quality of his work. He has built a solid foundation not only in his career field but also in his personal life. The Lord works through Patrick and his lovely wife, Jennifer, who are Directors of a faith-based orphanage in Uganda named ‘Love Lifted Me’. With the love and support from many, they have touched the lives of dozens of children, whom they now consider family. When working with Patrick, you can expect him to do absolutely everything in his power to ensure his client’ satisfaction!
Kenny is our on site project manager. His experience makes sure your job gets done right. Kenny started in construction when he was 16 years older and got his journeyman's license in his 30's. Kenny just turned 57 and he has done all facets of construction and still enjoys it now as much as he did when he started.
Kenny is from Joplin originally but 3 years ago moved to his lake house and enjoys fishing and spending time with family on the water.

David understands business very well. Starting in the painting industry at 17 than going on to be a foreman and project manager, at age 23 starting his own company doing painting and remodeling for 4+ years.
He realized as an owner of his company that his favorite things were meeting with customers having top-quality customer satisfaction and Quality work. He realized his passion was sales. You can count on him for a top-notch job.
David spends his free time with his family enjoys watching his son play soccer enjoy being a shepherd on his hobby farm.

Norm manages our outstanding drywall crew. He's lived in the four states area for over 45 years and has 40 plus years in the industry. Norm has a commitment to quality and can make jokes with the best of them. You're not just another face to Norm, he takes extreme pride in his work and treats your project as if it were his own.
Norm and his family attend Washburn 1st baptist church regularly and has been with us for almost 7 years
